Foundation History
Since its founding in 1910, the Rogue River Valley University Club has had a tradition of social responsibility and deep involvement in our community. About a decade ago, we formed a foundation as an avenue to pursue charitable endeavors. Today, the Foundation provides scholarships to local students to help them achieve their dream of a college education.
Our club has always believed in the power of an education—that it could change a young person’s life and open doors to new possibilities and career opportunities.
After starting the Foundation, we decided to fund scholarships for local youth. Our goal was to empower and uplift non-traditional students who have endured difficult life circumstances—and who might not qualify for other scholarships. We wanted them to have the chance to pursue their dreams of higher education.
Currently, the Foundation works with school counselors at local high schools to find scholarship candidates. Often, many of our scholarship recipients go on to attend college here in the Rogue Valley. As our club was founded by ambitious university graduates, we’re proud to see local students keeping this tradition alive and excelling in their studies in our own community.
Funds for the scholarships are primarily donated from our club members, or as annual donations. We also welcome monetary donations from community members who want to support local high school students.
