Dr. Joey Minear – President, Rogue River Valley University Club

Dr. Joey Minear is a fourth-generation Southern Oregonian, veteran, and dedicated community leader. As President of the Rogue River Valley University Club, he fosters collaboration among professionals and upholds the club’s rich traditions. As a retired U.S. Air Force Officer, Joey now serves as senior staff for Congressman Cliff Bentz as a Policy Advisor, focusing on national defense, natural resources, transportation, agriculture, and constituent casework. Committed to service, Joey is involved in Medford Rogue Rotary, the Jackson County Veterans Advisory Committee, The Community Volunteer Network, and The Air Force Wounded Warrior Program. He also founded Oregon Career Guide in 2024 to connect people with career opportunities. Joey holds a B.A. in Business Administration (SOU), an M.A. in Political Science (AMU), and a Doctorate in Law and Policy (Northeastern University). He lives in Eagle Point with his wife, Adrionna, and their two children.

Ron Kramer – Past President, Trustee

Before retiring in 2012, Ron Kramer worked in broadcasting, at both local stations and the ABC Radio Network, for 50 years.  He came to southern Oregon, as Executive Director of Jefferson Public Radio and the JPR Foundation, in 1974 – a position he held until 2012.  With Dunbar Carpenter, he co-founded KDRV, Channel 12 in 1979.  Ron holds a B.A. in History a B.A. in Speech (Baldwin-Wallace University) and an M.A. in Radio/Television/Film (Northwestern University).  At Portland’s Lewis and Clark College, he taught broadcasting and media history courses (1967-1974) and did the same at Southern Oregon University (1974 -1998).  He served as Executive Director of the Southern Oregon Historical Society from 2021– 2024.  In 2002 the Oregon Association of Broadcasters commissioned Ron to write the only comprehensive history of broadcasting in Oregon — which was published in 2009 under the title “Pioneer Mikes:  A History of Broadcasting in Oregon”.  He also wrote “A Century of Fellowship,” a history of the University Club, which the Club published in 2015.  Ron served as president of the Rogue River Valley University Club from 2014 until Fall, 2024.
